Burgos CF now knows the start and end dates of the Liga in Segunda División 2026-27. LaLiga 2026-2027 will start on the weekend of August 15-16. The arbitration resolution has been confirmed by AFE, in accordance with LaLiga's proposals for the start and end dates of the competition. LaLiga's position is that the competition will conclude on June 6, with the 42nd round, and the promotion play-off will be played between June 9 and 20, as estimated by the arbitrator. AFE requested that the play-offs be played on June 6, June 9, June 13, and June 20. AFE regrets that commercial and economic interests are being prioritized over health protection. AFE sources regretted, in statements to EFE, that the arbitrator had ruled in favor of LaLiga's proposal and insisted that they had always considered it "harmful" to start the competition on that weekend, as the players "do not have enough time for preparation". The union questioned that "commercial and economic interests are being prioritized over health protection" and estimated that a new agreement between First and Second Division was necessary "to protect the health of footballers above all", while disagreeing with the position of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for "interfering" in the calendar process in which it did not have to intervene, in favor of LaLiga. Without an agreement between the two parties, they submitted to arbitration, as stipulated in the agreement, in which AFE proposed the start of LaLiga on August 23, the second round on the weekend of August 30, and the third on September 2, with the end of both categories on May 30. The union defended that the start of the season is conditioned by what happens in the World Cup, which will end on July 19, and recalled that footballers have to enjoy a period of at least 21 consecutive days off and, after that, a pre-season that allows them to face the season with a sufficient preparation that preserves their physical integrity and protects them from injuries. LaLiga proposed the start of the competition on August 16, taking into account the teams with the greatest probability of reaching the semifinals and the final of the 2026 World Cup, something it works on with AI. It also included following all the players from LaLiga clubs selected for the World Cup, as well as the possible signings or departures they may make and making a study of the rosters of the 20 top-tier clubs before programming the round. Those clubs with a relevant number of players compared to their total roster, who have disputed the semifinals and/or the final of the World Cup, will have their first-round matches postponed to Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26, or Thursday 27 August or, if there is an express request from the club,>Hello
